Windell L. Stevens, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.

He was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Kirby, Arkansas, to Marion E. and Lucille (Ward) Stevens. He married Nona Mae Scott, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 2004. He later married Rita K. Buchanan, and she survives.

Windell worked as a cable repairman at AT&T for 40 years and had also worked at Kokomo Auto Supply and other car dealerships in Kokomo. He enjoyed fishing, going to antique car shows and watching basketball. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the T-Bird Club in Ft. Wayne and was a 50-year member of the Walton Masonic Lodge. He was also Papaw to many at Precious Ones Daycare.

In addition to his wife, Rita Stevens, he is survived by his daughters, Paula (Mike) Pitner, Walton; and Debbie (Terry) Rumple, Bennetts Switch; grandchildren, Mandy Pitner, Sarah (Ian) Watson and Andrew (fiancé Taylor) Daggett; sisters, Mattie (Micky) Wallace, California; and Nancy (John Weatherford) Stevens, Ripon, California; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Stevens, Helen Stevens and Phyllis Kendrick; stepdaughters, Shelley (Rex) Graft, Hebron, Kentucky; Christy Millen, West Lafayette; and Sara (Doug) Steinberg, Otsego, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Anabelle Jones, Jaxson Jones and Sophia Watson; step-grandchildren, Mitchell Cooper, Megan Graft, Aaron Graft, Eli Graft, Christopher Graft, Ty Graft, Lucas Millen, Colleen Millen and Austin Millen; and four step-great-grandchildren and their families. He was also a special uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nona Mae Stevens; brothers, Glen Stevens, Clyde Stevens, Elton Stevens and Gary (Sue) Stevens; stepbrother, James Kendrick; nephew, Kevin Stevens; stepmother, Laura Evelyn Stevens Stearns; and mother and father-in-law, J.O. and Mary Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, with Pastors Stan Zurcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
