Sharon J. (Layman) Rush, 85, of Logansport, formerly of Walton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.
She was born July 26, 1938, in Logansport, to Daniel E. and Elsie M. (Maze) Layman. She married Paul "Jay" Rush on Aug. 4, 1956, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1989.
Sharon served as a cook for over 37 yrs. at Southeastern School Corporation. She was a member of the Walton Christian Church.
Surviving family include daughters, Gayle (Jerry) Long, Deborah Sherman and Ashlee Simpson, all of Kokomo; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Daniel (Linda) Layman of Logansport.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Jay"; and one sister, Rosie.
Memorial Services will be held on Sept. 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. - noon, at Walton Christian Church.
