Sharon Kay Korreckt, 68, Royal Center passed away at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette.
Born Dec. 3, 1947, in Burnettsville, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Thelma (Sweet) Blount. She was a 1965 Pioneer High School graduate.
On May 20, 1995, she married Richard Korreckt in Gatlinburg, Tenn. He preceded her in death in February 2008.
Sharon formerly worked as a certified nursing assistant at Logansport Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2007. She loved playing bingo, attending flea markets and visiting casinos. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her dog, Dancer. She also attended Bell Center Church.
Survivors include her sons, Lonnie "Gene" Durbin (fiance, Billie Jo Cotner) of Burnettsville and David Ott (Connie) of Logansport; daughters, Nancy Weaver (William) of Burnettsville and Sherri Nordyke (partner, Teresa Landis) of Lafayette; stepson, Greg Korreckt of Logansport; brothers, Bob Blount (Mary) of Yeoman, Don Blount (Norma) of Monticello, Dick Blount (Ruby) of Brookston, Dean Blount of Monticello, Kenneth Blount of Indianapolis and Michael Blount (Christine) of Royal Center; sisters, Phyllis Bufkin (Jerry) of Remington, Marjorie Williams of Converse, Doris Hindenlider of Sunny Side, Wash., and Connie Pickett (Susie) of Monticello; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, three brothers and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center chapel, with Chaplain Laura Penny-Bade officiating. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
