Kokomo - Roger Mennen, 79, went home to Jesus on July 24, 2023.

On Sept. 27, 1943, he became the first of four children born to H. Burton and Lulu Marjorie (Cunningham) Mennen. He took his time in selecting an ideal wife, and on Nov. 24, 1995, he married Connie Leach.

Roger graduated from Washington Twp. School, Cass County, in 1961. He attended Purdue University, where he studied Ag Econ. He enjoyed hunting, and he went deer hunting annually with his uncle out west. Roger enjoyed golf, and he learned to fly small single engine aircraft.

Roger held various jobs, starting with Sangrilea Valley in Onward, Indiana. He also worked for a couple of grain elevators before buying a Dura Seal business, which he operated until he retired.

Besides his wife, Connie; Roger leaves his two sons, Timothy Jay (Kristy) Leach and Michael Shawn (Jamie) Leach; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Milton) Bevington and Mary Louise Mennen; a brother, Alvin (Jill) Mennen; two nieces and three nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Carl Lorenze.

Preceding Roger in death were his parents, Burton and Marjorie Mennen; and a niece, Darci Bevington.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
