Richard G. Shook, 79, Sugar Land, Texas, passed away at 10:02 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 7, 1943, to the late Forrest D. and Esther E. (Meyer) Shook.
Richard graduated in 1961 from Logansport High School in Indiana, and earned his Law degree from the University of Texas. He was an Attorney for Prudential Insurance Company of America, and retired after 30 years of service. Richard was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Rosenberg, Texas. He played basketball at Logansport High School, and went to the Final 4 his sophomore and senior year.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Cherilyn) Shook, and Susan (Phil) Hatfield; nieces and nephews, Denise (Arnold) Bellmer, Scott (Michelle) Shook, Christopher (Danielle) Hatfield, Aaron (Jessica) Shook, and Stephanie Hatfield; and 7 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Linda Alongi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Friday, March 3, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., Kokomo, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Duquaine, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Friday at the church.
