Haines City, Florida - Richard Lamb 85, Haines City, Florida (formally of Logansport, Indiana) went to be with our Lord on February 14th, 2026. Richard was born on November 13th, 1940 to Glen & Mildred Lamb. Richard was a 1959 graduate of Logansport High School and a West-sider. He was proud to serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. On October 6th, 1963, Richard married Janet (Stewart) Lamb who survives. Richard retired after 34 years from Chrysler in 2001 and in 2004 moved to Florida where he loved the sunshine, swimming and making new friends at the pool. Richard was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. You could find him at Tower park in the summers coaching and watching his daughters play softball and in the fall watching his son and Jay play football. Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years Janet, son Steven, daughters Annette (Scott) Schaefer, Terri (Doug) Thomas and brother in law Jay Stewart who was like a bonus son. He is also survived by brother Mark Lamb and sisters June Cole and Jill Mayfield. Richard was known as "papaw" to grandchildren Whitney Trent, Ryan Schaefer, Sean Lamb, Sydney Lamb, Paxton (Lily) Thomas, Paydon ( Allyson) Thomas and Parker Thomas. Great grandchildren Dalton Schaefer, Cory Schaefer, Colt Lee Thomas, Charlotte Rae Carol Thomas and Maddox Michael Thomas. Richard was preceded in death by brothers in law Dick Cole, Danny Mayfield, Robert Stewart, grandson Brandon Lamb and great granddaughter Katherine Rae Thomas. The family of Richard would like to say a special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL for the care of our dad during his final days, Ronda Warmbier for taking dad to appointments, caring for him at home during the day, and his childhood friend and best man Bob Paul for a lifetime of laughter and memories. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Indiana.
