Elwood, Indiana - If you are reading this, I have left this earth.
While on this earth, I was lucky enough to love and be loved. I spent my childhood playing baseball, swimming and whatever various games the neighborhood was occupying the summer day with. The time I spent with my grandparents—Francis/Dorthy Berkshire and Hollis/Pauline Babb—built the man I became, their lessons and love provided an idyllic childhood with my brother, Daniel (Dan) and Jennifer Babb; and sister, Christie (Chris) and Wes Siminski-Killian, Jesse Worthington; cousins all around; and the love of my parents, Gayle/Rod Siminski, Richard (Dick)/Beverly Babb.
My time in the Navy gave me incredible opportunities and lessons I have carried with me to my last breath. From there a series of life's realities, I found myself married to my wife Dr. Tonia Kay Young-Babb, otherwise known as hey-you. She loved and cared for our family while finding herself. Keep being you. Our boys are men now. Dr. Richard E. Babb, Cody and Quin Rude, and Jacob Babb, and added a few extras along the way. I was not a perfect father, but our love and family is. We built a family together through friendship, love and shared trauma of all the crazy things in life. Always remember we are family.
I apologize to any I have offended or brought distress. I was incredibly lucky to have supportive, kind and great people in my life, thank you for all that you did. I hope the world remembers that kindness changes the action and laughter changes the reaction.
My greatest accomplishment and grandest honor, being grandpa has been incredible and created another level of love in my heart. You have brought joy, laughter and love. I am only leaving you to be with Carson.
We will gather to remember and honor his life at Twelve Mile Park in Twelve Mile, Indiana, at noon on Saturday, May 31, 2025. May you all enjoy the world's beauty and find the fun.
