Paul Abram Strauch, 86, Kokomo, passed on to eternal life and was reunited with his eldest daughter, Sue Cable, at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

He leaves his wife, of 68 years, Eleanor (Good) Strauch, who he married June 4, 1950, in Logansport.

Born and raised on a farm in Washington Township, Cass County, Paul grew up milking cows and working the fields with his parents. Farming was not his passion, but throughout his young married life Paul would many times work three jobs to provide for his family. He joined the Pennsylvania Railroad at the age of 20, as a brakeman, and later became a conductor for Amtrak and retired after 40 years. Paul was an avid golfer who first shot his age at 74 when he shot a 68 at Green Acres Golf Course in Kokomo. He was a deeply faith-filled man, a sports enthusiast, and most proud of his five children. He was a lifelong devoted Lutheran. Dad will be greatly missed, but his legacy of being a Christian man will live on.

Together Paul and "Ellie" raised five children, sons, Mike Strauch (Tanya), Jay Strauch, (Laura), and daughters, Penny Irwin (Ken), and Paula Brennan (Steve). Paul also was Grandpa to 13 grandchildren, and Great-Grandpa to 14.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. East, Kokomo, with Pastors William Allison and Barry Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the church.
