Nubert Eugene "Tunney" Eudy, 89, Logansport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2016. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Gene was born Feb. 12, 1927 in Salisbury, North Carolina to the late Andy and Ida Sanders Eudy. On May 28, 1988, he married Elaine Horn in Winamac.

Gene served in the US Navy during World War II and Korea. He was a member of the VFW Post #1728 and American Legion Post #71 of Winamac. He was proud to have been a part of an Honor Flight in 2014.

Gene was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Winamac where he had served as a Deacon for many years. He was 50 year member of the Winamac Masonic Lodge #262 F&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend.

Gene was a retired custodian from Eastern Pulaski Schools and also painted on the side during the summer.

Gene was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching baseball. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with his dog, Oreo.

Gene loved his family very much, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include wife, Elaine Horn Eudy, Logansport; daughter, Dr. Kim (Doug) Moyer, Star City; son, Kent (Shellee) Eudy, The Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Kellie (Kenneth) Bork, Logansport; daughter, Karla (James) Gould, Star City; three step daughters; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; niece, Mary Lois Kopkey; and many other nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Burial with Military Rites in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM EDT Tuesday at Frain Mortuary. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
