Carmel, IN - Michael N. Shepherd of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 81.
He was born in Logansport, Indiana, on Feb. 25, 1944, to parents, Nelson and Maxine (Miller) Shepherd.
Michael graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He worked for Allison transmission for over 33 years as a purchasing agent. Michael and his wife Wanda were franchise owners of two local Baskin Robbins over the years. Michael was a member of the Carmel American Legion Post 155. He was a long-time member of Second Presbyterian church.
Michael married Wanda (Berry) Shepherd on May 7, 1966, together they spent 59 loving years married, she survives. He is survived by his in-laws, Tom (Margaret) Long, Monroe (Carol) Hunt, Morrison Berry; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Terry Engle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
