Marylou Bonnell, 86, of Star City, went home to be with the Lord at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan. Marylou graduated from Winamac High School in 1950. On June 10, 1951, she married the love of her life, Wayne Bonnell, at the Star City United Methodist Church.

Marylou was an active member of the Star City United Methodist Church. Marylou was a true philanthropist, having been instrumental in the creation of the Community Foundation of Pulaski County where she served 10 years as a director. She gave a lot of time and energy to her community. In her younger years, Marylou was a talented cake baker and decorator. She was also a master at gingerbread cookies. She was also one of the first female bus drivers for Star City and Winamac Schools.

Marylou and Wayne established Pond View Golf Course in 1974 which grew to include Pine View Golf Course in 1985 and Mystic Hills Golf Course in 1998. Marylou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bonnell; her children, Vicki Pugh, Jeff (Rae) Bonnell, Ann (Fred) Shidler and Steve (Stephanie) Bonnell; her grandchildren, Mike (Sam) Pugh, Dave (Heather) Pugh, Emily (Mike) Haschel, Christina "Bubba" Turpin, Brian (Tammy) Bonnell, Shawn (Jessica) Bonnell, Greg (Kami) Shidler, Brandon (Nicole) Shidler, Amy Stearns, Amber Vogley, Chase (Amanda) Bonnell and Noah Bonnell; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Phyllis) Crawford, Bob (Janet) Crawford, Jenny Tenney and Sandy (Jim) Johnston; sister-in-law, Gwen Crawford; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho W. and Lula D. Emerson Crawford; siblings, John (Florence) Crawford and Phil J. Crawford; and brother-in-law, Dave Tenney.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Star City United Methodist Church with visitation there from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at Buck Cemetery.
