Mary Beth Phillips, 72, of Walton, passed away peacefully at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her home.

Mary was born July 14, 1950, in Wabash, Indiana, to Max and Betty (Walls) Browning. She married Roger Jay Phillips on April 21, 1967, in Young America. Roger preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2018.

Surviving family include her daughter, Dr. Dustardie D. Reed, Galveston; sons, Roger J. Phillips, Walton and John (Dr. Dori Ann Ditty) Phillips, Walton; her mother, Betty Browning of Galveston; her grandchildren, Cameron, R.J. (Hannah) Phillips and Parker and Zoe Reed; one great-grandson, Greyson Phillips; and brother, Leroy Browning. She is preceded in death by her father, Max; husband, Roger; brother, William Browning; and sister, Kathy Allen.

Private family services will be held at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, with Pastor Rod Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park cemetery in Logansport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
