Wolcott, IN - Mary Lou Barrett, 81, of Wolcott, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Indiana University Arnett in Lafayette, Indiana.

Born Oct. 15, 1944, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Robert Glae Michael and Helen (Follette) Michael. On July 1, 2000, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, she was married to Rex L. Barrett, who survives.

Mary Lou was a dedicated factory worker for Dwyer Instruments. She loved to quilt and do crafts, finding joy in creating handmade treasures for family and friends.

Surviving along with her husband, Rex, are her two sons, Edward (Angela) Klinkhamer Jr. of Logansport and Ted Klinkhamer of Kokomo; stepson, Jon (Misty) Barrett of Monticello; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Pickering of Fort Wayne; three brothers, James L. (Lynn) Michael of Morrisville, North Carolina, William (Linda) Michael of Logansport and David Michael of Logansport; two sisters, Betty (Bill) Friskey of Logansport and Sandra (Dannie) Barrett of Logansport; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ann Yantis; brothers, Walter Michael and Richard Michael; parents, Robert and Helen Michael; one great-grandson; and her dog, Skeeter.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
