Mark A. Peterson, 66, of Lucerne, formerly of Monterey, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Community Howard Regional Health Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on Feb. 1, 1956, in Winamac, to the late Amos J. and Sarah K. (Reinholt) Peterson. Mark graduated from Culver High School in Culver. He was a retired butcher, having worked at Martins in Logansport for many years. Mark was a former member of Winamac Lodge #262 F&AM; as well as Shriners. He was a member of the Lucerne Lion's Club. Mark enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating, fishing, hunting and playing Frisbee golf. He had a keen eye for Indiana artifacts. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mark loved his many pets—too many to name! Most of all, Mark loved his family, and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. (Ashbaugh) Peterson; one son, Matt Peterson; three sisters, Jenny (Michael) McGraw, Judy (Doug) Hartz and Ginger (James) Boys; a brother-in-law, Jarrel Hartle; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Amos J. and Sarah K. (Reinholt) Peterson; one son, George A. Peterson; and one sister, Jane E. Hartle. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. EST Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. EST Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Burial will take place at Riverbank Cemetery in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to Lucerne Volunteer Fire Department or Monterey Volunteer Fire Department.
