Marilyn K. Shidler, 63, Royal Center, passed away unexpectedly at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born April 26, 1953 in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Fry) Hoffman.
She was a 1971 Winamac High School graduate.
Marilyn was currently working as a Correctional Officer at the Cass-Pulaski Community Corrections Department, and she also formerly operated a cleaning business, where she cleaned the Royal Center Post Office and various other residences and businesses.
Marilyn was a member of Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Lance Fisher, Logansport; grandchildren, Ashley Elliott (Jacob) and Dennis Fisher, all of Logansport; great grandchildren, Xavier Gordon, Christian and Ethan Elliott; and siblings, Frank Hoffman of Sarasota, Florida, Donald Beaver, Apache Junction, Arizona, Jeanette Kasten (Fred) of Winamac, ElDonna Merritt (Lawrence), Speedway, Robert Hoffman (Becky), Culver, Mike Hoffman (Carol), Winamac, and James Hoffman (Fran), North Webster.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Laverne and Sharon.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center, with Pastor Rich Utterback officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.
