Louise  Carter
Louise Carter, 88, of West Lafayette, formerly of Lucerne, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette.
Born on Oct. 19, 1931 in Barren County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Houchens) Furlong. On Sept. 13, 1981 she married Virgil E. Carter, he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2001.
She was a retired home care employee and homemaker. Louise was a member of Lucerne Christian Church.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Linda) Carter of Glasgow, Kentucky; Donald (Kana) Carter of Indianapolis and Larry (Lynda) Carter of West Lafayette; brother, Howard (Corine) Furlong of Smith Grove, Kentucky; sisters, Agnes Jones of Glasgow, Kentucky, Noxie Beatty of Smith Grove, Kentucky and Elaine (Michael) Lawrence of Smith Grove, Kentucky; grandchildren, Todd (Amy) Carter of Glasgow, Kentucky, Justin (Heather) Carter of Atlanta, Georgia and Tara Carter of Lafayette. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death sister, Twyla Lawrence and Wanda Smith. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucerne Christian Church and/or Hillcrest Baptist Church.
