Lois Ann Mayberry Ayres, 92, formerly of Flora, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9:15 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi.
She was born March 9, 1926 in Logansport, to the late George and Fern Hower Mayberry. Her marriage was to Richard Lee Ayres in Logansport on Oct. 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1989.
She was a 1944 graduate of Logansport High School. She and her husband owned and operated Ayres Oil Co. in Flora, where she was the bookkeeper for many years. She then worked part-time at the former J Ann Shop, and then for the Grapevine Boutique in Flora. She was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren, Flora. She enjoyed bowling, tennis, playing bridge, boating, swimming and skiing on Lake Freeman. She dearly loved her family.
Surviving are daughters Karen (Kenneth "Ken") Anderson, New Port Richey, Florida, and Cindy Lesh, Monticello; grandchildren Kristie, Kendra, Shea and Brandon; great-grandchildren Kinsey Zinn, Kassidy Jones and Kelsey Jones; and stepsister Donna (Bart) Bartrand of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by a sister Betty.
