Judith (Stewart) Hickman, 86, of Monticello, passed away at home on May 14, 2024.

Judy was born in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Charles and Maryann Stewart. She graduated from Logansport High School and attended Indiana University. On Aug. 4, 1957, she married Charles W.

Hickman of Logansport at the Broadway Methodist Church.

Judy moved to Monticello in 1968, and was a homemaker and a very active volunteer in the Monticello community. She was a volunteer extraordinaire. She worked with the Girl Scouts, White County Red Cross, Literacy Volunteers, school classrooms/PTO/building task force, Buffalo Recreation programs,

Lake Shaffer Homeowners, Tri Kappa, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and White County Food Pantry. Judy was recognized many times with awards and honors. In 2005, she was presented with the Older Hoosier of the Year by the Indiana Division of Aging - Area 4, and was named a Distinguished Hoosier in

2010 by the Governor of the State of Indiana.

Judy is survived by her husband Charles of 66 years; son, Robert of Monticello; daughter, Susan Lamb of Texas; and daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Keller of Illinois; grandchildren, Brian (Nichole), David (Ashley), Amanda (James), Kaden (Alexis), Ryan (Erin), and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Knox, Jacob and Ethan, Theodore, Remy and Isaac; and niece, Marian Stewart of Ohio.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, from 4-7p.m., at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral home in Monticello, with a service on Monday, 5/20, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the service at noon at

Hughes Cemetery, also in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The White County Foundation, 1001 S. Airport Road, Monticello, IN 47960, or to the Literacy Volunteers of
