Jennifer L. Peterson, 55, of Lucerne, passed away at her home Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1968, in Chesterton, to the late Paul K. and Jill A. (Rietesel) Ashbaugh. She graduated from Chesterton High School and Ball State University. Jennifer was a social worker with a heart of gold. She had previously worked at Camelot Care Center in Logansport and served on the board of the Cass County Youth Services Bureau.

She was a member of the Lion's Club in Lucerne for many years. On Oct. 30, 2015, she married Mark A. Peterson at Lawton Christian Church in Lawton. He passed away on Nov. 29, 2022. Jennifer enjoyed gardening, sewing, snowmobiling, boating and reading. She will be deeply missed.

Jennifer is survived by her stepson, Matt Peterson of Monterey; three cousins, Curt, Kevin and Jeff Waugh; three sisters-in-law, Jenny (Michael) McGraw, Judy (Doug) Hartz and Ginger (James) Boys; a brother-in-law, Jarrel (Pam) Hartle; and many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous beloved pets.

Preceded in death by her parents; and her husband; as well as his parents, Amos J. and Sarah K. (Reinholt) Peterson; and a sister-in-law, Jane Hartle. No Services will be held.
