Logansport, IN - James Frederick Mayhill, 89, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born July 1, 1935, in Cass County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Frederick Walter and Lottie Gertrude (Bussard) Mayhill. On July 4, 1954, in Anoka, Indiana, he married Ruth Esther (Alber), who survives.

Jim was a retired farmer. He had also worked for the Indiana State Highway Department, the railroad, Herd Seeder and was a former bus driver for Southeastern School Corporation. Jim was a faithful member of Anoka Community Church.

Survivors, including his wife Ruth, are one daughter, Laura Ruth (Charlayne Streeter) Burgan, Idaho; three sons, David James (Amy Barnes) Mayhill, Logansport, Jon A. (Melanie) Mayhill, Logansport, Joseph L. (Joy) Mayhill, Walton; one brother, Robert A. Mayhill, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Mayhill; and one sister, Patricia Siems.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the church on Monday.

A celebration of life will start promptly at 6 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, in the Anoka Community Church, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A private burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
