James Allen Laycock Obituary
James Allen Laycock, 81, rural Roann, died at 4:38 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Gas City, to Wilford and Delpha (Tremaine) Laycock.
Jim married Carolyn Sue Kelsey in Fort Wayne on July 14, 1961; she died Sept. 5, 2002. He was a lifelong farmer and raised cattle for over 70 years. He enjoyed going to livestock sale barns and thoroughly loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his five children, Jamie (Cynthia) Laycock of Macy, Jeffrey (Lori "Bugs") Laycock and Terri (Jim) Dale, both of Peru, Justin (Jodi) Laycock of Wabash, and Ann Voght of Phoenix, Arizona; four siblings, Philip Laycock of Wabash, Paul (Carole) Laycock of Hamilton, Ohio, Jannette Sturckow of San Diego, California, and Judy Triplett of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Laycock; his sister, Phyllis Brown; and his half-sister, Linda VanDalson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 1, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Road, Roann, with Pastor Brad Eckerley officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
