Galveston - Harry "Whitey" Walker Jr., 96, of Galveston, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2023, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Harry's 96 years of life began on Dec. 12, 1926, in Kokomo, Indiana, when he was born to Harry E. and Gladys M. (Carey) Walker. On Feb. 14, 1947, Harry married Mary Jo (Amos), and they enjoyed 66 years together before Mary's passing in 2013.

Harry worked for Med-O-Bloom Dairy for several years, picking up and delivering milk to his customers seven days a week. He would eventually retire from General Motors. Harry took great pride in his home, making sure that everything was well manicured and freshly painted.

Surviving are two children, Jerry and Donna Walker, Galveston; daughter, Jill and Alvin Mennen, Walton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo; brothers, Joe, Raymond and Robert Walker; and sister, Betty Hiatt; as well as sister-in-law, Betty Davis.
