Gladys Knight, 86, Logansport passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side at 3:56 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born May 11, 1930, in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Oliverio and Lucinda (Polo) Aguero.

Gladys was a graduate of the American Dominican Academy in Havana, and she also attended Virginia Intermont College.

On Nov. 13, 1953, she married Wilbur Knight. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1980.

She retired from Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne.

Gladys was strong in her faith. She enjoyed attending Mass at Miller's Merry Manor, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Henderson (Thomas), Logansport, and Leslie Toepfer (Jeffrey), Michigan; grandchildren, Alison Mount, New Jersey, Frank Morris (Leslie), Ohio, Matthew Toepfer, Michigan, and Nick Toepfer, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Olivia Mount, New Jersey; Isabella Morris, Finley Morris and Levi Morris, all of Ohio; stepmother, Noema Aguero, Florida; half-brothers, Manny Aguero, Florida, and Ed Aguero, Florida; and nephews, Oliver Aguero and Eric Aguero, both of Florida.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Oliverio "Oly" Aguero.

A private family service will be held, and burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery in rural Wabash County.
