Florence J. Baldwin, 85, Kewanna, passed away peacefully at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 27, 1930, in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (Young) Stepp.
On Nov. 29, 1947, she married Richard C. Baldwin. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1987.
Florence had been a waitress at the Mar-Lo Restaurant in Kewanna, and she formerly owned and operated Baldwin Sundries in Kewanna for many years before retiring from Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna.
Florence was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church where she was active in the Food Pantry Ministry as well as the UM Women. She was also a former member of the Kewanna Union-Township Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and playing Yahtzee with her best friend, Virginia Agnew.
Survivors include her children, Larry (Bev) Baldwin, Steve (Pam) Baldwin, Charles "Chuck" (Barbie) Baldwin, Tami (Rich) Powell and Deana (Bryan) Thomas, all of Kewanna; sister, Marilyn (Bob) McCormick, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kurt) Griesch, Laurie (Jeff) Paulik, Jennifer Mikesell, Scott (Becky) Baldwin, Shawna (Jonathen) Amit, Lisa Barr, Scotty (Gillian) Oliver, Christopher (Keila) Baldwin, Charlie Baldwin, Cody Baldwin, Chanse Baldwin, Brittney (Jake) Schroder, Caleb (Rachelle Sherman) Baldwin, Traci (Tony) Leininger, Trent (Janet Daake) Powell, Trish (Brent) Forry, Brandi Thomas, Courtney (Clinton Shepherd) Thomas and Whitney (Charles Roland) Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Beatrice Griesch, Carson Paulik, Adrian Paulik, Brianne Paulik, Keisha (Danny Maggart) Mikesell, Autumn Mikesell, Trey Mikesell, Hannah Baldwin, Evan Baldwin, Naomi Baldwin, Tessa Baldwin, Dovev Amit, Miya Amit, Micah Amit, Landrew Barr, Chandler Patterson, Hadley Gray, Noah Oliver and Aileen Oliver, Trent Cripe, McKenzie Baldwin, Avery Baldwin, Kayden Baldwin, Aleah Baldwin, Parker Baldwin, Emmett Leininger, Abigail Powell, Ivy Powell, Mitchell Powell, Grace Daake, Zak Daake, Ava Forry, Parker Forry, Ashlyn Bailey, Corbyn Bailey, Elijah Holloway, Isaiah Riddle, Anaiah Dulin, Rianne Stier, Josh Shepherd and Karter Shepherd; and great-great-grandchildren, McKenley Ward and Mason Maggart.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Stepp; and sisters, Arnabelle Penicaro, Phyllis Jo Cochran and Janice Kay "Butch" Stepp.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Kewanna United Methodist Church, with Pastor Todd Wilson officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the church and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Burial will follow at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna.
