Eleanor "Ellie" Lois (Good) Strauch, 86, Kokomo, passed on to eternal life at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.

She joins her husband of 68 years, Paul Strauch, who she married on June 4, 1950 and who passed away just two weeks earlier on May 30, 2018. She was born May 26, 1932, in Cass County.

Eleanor often bragged she was named after Eleanor Roosevelt. Ellie was raised in Grass Creek until she was 8 years old and then moved to Walton. She stayed at home to raise their children until after their youngest was born; at that time she entered the workforce at Delco Electronics in Kokomo. She was employed for 30 years until she retired in 1991. Ellie was an avid seamstress and passed that skill on to her daughters. Ellie and Paul spent their retirement years going between their home in Fort Myers, Florida and Indiana.

Together Paul and "Ellie" raised five children, sons, Mike Strauch (Tanya), Jay Strauch, (Laura), and daughters, Penny Irwin (Ken), and Paula Brennan (Steve). Ellie also was grandma to 13 grandchildren, and great-grandma to 14.

Ellie was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Sue Cable; and brother, Arlen Good, who served as an Indiana State Trooper.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. East, Kokomo, with Pastor William Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and her eldest daughter, Sue.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
