Doris Elaine Woolington Obituary

Doris Elaine Woolington, 88, of Kewanna, passed away peacefully at 10:25 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born on Aug. 5, 1932, in Martinsville, she was daughter of the late Dencil and Edith (Sullivan) Walls.

She was a 1950 Akron High School graduate.

On March 23, 1962, she married Donald L. Woolington. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2010.

Doris was the bookkeeper for Don and her businesses, Kewanna Lumber and Hardware and for Woolington Construction.

She was a member of Rochester Church of Christ and she enjoyed going out to the monthly ladies breakfasts and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Hassenplug (Cathy), of Kewanna; step sons, Mark Woolington (Mona), of Logansport, Michael Woolington (Deb), of Logansport; son in law, Jim Shank Jr. of Winamac; daughter in law, Debra Schoenherr (Jack), of Florida; brother, Donald Walls (Sharon), of Argos; sisters, Connie Hartman,of Logansport. Doris is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and nin great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen Shank; son, David Hassenplug; granddaughter, Kristen Woolington; great granddaughter, Sarah Hassenplug; and sister, Jean DeTurk.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at the Rochester Church of Christ, with visitation starting at 1 p.m.

Burial will be at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna, at a later date.
