Donald B. Willy, 86, Delphi, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at White Oak Health Campus, Legacy Unit, Monticello.

He was born on July 10, 1930, in Logansport, to the late Eugene P. and Mary (Appleton) Willy.

Don was a 1948 graduate of Camden High School and a 1950 graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis.

He married Wilma Jean McCloskey on Feb. 3, 1951, in Indianapolis and she survives.

After graduating from Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Mr. Willy worked at McCloskey Hamilton Funeral Home, Logansport. He began his career with Farm Bureau in Delphi from 1951 to 1955. He retired in August 1985 as manager of the Carroll and White County offices.

He served on the Lilly Foundation Board and was a REMC director. He was also a member of the Delphi Oddfellows Lodge 28.

Don enjoyed camping, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Along with his wife, Jean, he is survived by his children: Diane Baker (Brad) of Monticello, Douglas M. Willy (Stephanie) of Delphi and Denise Craig (Jeff) of Delphi, and sister-in-law, Carol Willy of Kokomo; two grandsons, five granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

He was preceded by his brothers, Bud and Dean Willy.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bob Williams and Father Ambrose Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in IOOF Memorial Garden, Pittsburg, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday; and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service on Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Serenity Hospice or the donor's favorite charity.
