Christopher T. Strayer, 55, Akron, Indiana, passed away at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on March 1, 1967, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Vernon Thomas Strayer and Wanda Jane (Wilson) Strayer Anderson. On Feb. 2, 2006, in Logansport, Indiana, he married Teresa Pastucha, and she survives.

Christopher had worked as a Corrections Officer at the Miami Correctional Facility, Bunker Hill, Indiana, and had also worked for Zimmer in Warsaw, Indiana, Wilson Foods and Transco, both of Logansport, Indiana. He enjoyed muscle cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Strayer, Akron, Indiana; children, Dustin Strayer, Jeremy Strayer, Jacob Strayer, all of Logansport, Indiana, Shaela Strayer, Peru, Indiana, Jordan Strayer, Akron, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; sister, Cindy Strayer, Logansport, Indiana; brother, Joshua Anderson, Logansport, Indiana; step-mother, Donna Strayer, Lynchburg, Virginia; step-sister, Beth Rudd, Lynchburg, Virginia; step-brother, Chuck Butcher, Hurt, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; sister, Tammy Reed; brother, Jerry Strayer; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher Strayer Memorial Fund.
