Carolyn C. Piercy Mason, 79, of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Walton, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in Gulfside Hospice - Bayonet Point in Hudson, Florida.

Born October 16, 1936, in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Elsie (Simpson) Piercy. Carolyn graduated in 1954 from Washington Township High School in Cass County. On September 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Larry W. Mason, in Onward, who survives.

She was a longtime employee of the Indiana BMV, where she served as a clerk in the Logansport office and a driver examiner for several counties. She worked at Vanguard Pharmaceutical and the Barren County Clerk's office after the couple moved to Glasgow, Kentucky. She moved to Hudson, Florida with her husband after they retired.

Carolyn was a longtime member of Onward Christian Church, and dedicated her life to giving her children opportunities and support through 4-H, sports, and extra-curricular activities at their various schools. She was also an avid reader.

Surviving with Larry, her husband of 61 years, are two daughters, Rita (David) Selheim, of Columbus, Indiana and Vicki (Michael) Sparling, of Logansport; and three sons, L. Randall 'Randy' (Lorrie) Mason, of Logansport, Joseph (Connie) Mason of Cave City, Kentucky and Jeffrey (Cindy) Mason of Washington, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Carolyn are two sisters, Margaret Smith of Young America and Sandra Preston of Kokomo; and two brothers, Jack (Patsy) Piercy of Jasper, Missouri and Rex (Debbye) Piercy of The Villages, Florida.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Leroy and Mitchell Piercy and one granddaughter, Renee Spradlin.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carolyn Mason will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dawn Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17, in the funeral chapel.
