Logansport, Indiana - Carolyn Sue (Putnam) DeHaven, 82, passed away peacefully in Logansport, Indiana, with her beloved husband and family by her side on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
Susie, as she was most commonly known, was born on June 23, 1943, to Grant Putnam Sr., and Mary Naomi Parmeter in Logansport, Indiana, where she lived her entire life. She married the love of her life, Charles E. DeHaven, in Burnettsville, Indiana, on Oct. 7, 1961. She lived a full life of serving her family.
She is survived by her wonderful husband, Charles. E. DeHaven (67 years strong); two daughters, Cammy (Jim) Ronchetto (Florida) and DeeDee (George) Franklin (Indiana). She is also survived by four grandchildren who she spoiled all the time and loved unconditionally, Emily Myers (Indiana), Chase Myers (Taylor) (Tennessee) Parker Ronchetto (Florida) and Spencer Ronchetto (Florida). She is also survived by her brother, Fred Winegardner; and sister, Kim Vigar, of Walton and Logansport, respectively.
She was preceded in death by four of her brothers and her parents.
Growing up, she had a great childhood and enjoyed swimming in the pool her father built, and playing with her neighborhood friends and siblings. She very much lived for her family and loved hosting, especially on Christmas Eve. She was an avid knitter, and all of the family and friends benefited from her incredible blankets, slippers, scarves, hot pads and many other things she has made and given away over the years.
She loved her flowers and helping Pop in the garden — most of the time eating raw green onions. She always maintained a meticulously clean household. She loved when the family got together at any time, but she especially loved when everyone got together on their porch for a seafood boil in the summer.
None of the memories with Susie can be replaced, and she will be missed dearly by all. The family would like to thank Guardian Angels for consistently being kind and taking great care of her. She is in a better place, but will never be replaced. We love you, Susie (Gram).
A celebration of life will be held at Gundrum Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, with a service held at 6 p.m., and Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A private burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park. You may sign Susie's guestbook and leave your condolences online to the family at www.gundrumcares.com.
