Carol Sue Sieckman Obituary

Carol Sue Sieckman, 88, of Monticello, formerly of Reynolds, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at Monticello Healthcare.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1934, in Buffalo, to Raymond and Meva (Evernham) Read. On Dec. 10, 1976, she married Robert R. Sieckman at the Monticello Christian Church, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2010.

She was a graduate of Walton High School, and worked as a cashier for 26 years at Thrifty Mart and three years at Kroger prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities. She sang in the choir, was a past president and vice president of the study club and a member of the quilting club. Carol Sue served as trustee, was on the nominating committee, pastor parish relation committee, audit committee, and administrative council. She was a member of Honey Creek Home Econ Club and the Moose, formerly of Monticello. Carol Sue liked the Colts, Cubs and basketball. She enjoyed fishing in Minnesota, knitting dish rags, and she loved her flowers. Most of all, she cherished her family.

Surviving are her children, Pamela (Dave) Haskell of Brookston, John Miller of Brookston; stepchildren, Gary (Marcia) Sieckman of Rancine, Wisconsin, Paulette Pryor of Phoenix, Arizona; siblings, Doris Glassburn of Walton, Mary (Dick) Bixler of Rochester, Jo Dill of Delphi; grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Horn, Missy (Justin) Bender, Travis Miller, Jon Miller; step-grandchildren, Kevin (Maggie) Sieckman, Kelly (Lee) Hurst; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Ross and Max Read, and Bonnie Rice; and a granddaughter, Jessica Horn.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.

Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Reynolds United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
