Logansport, Indiana - Bruce M. Ashby, 70, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 19, in his residence, after bravely fighting cancer.

He was the son of Rex and Iris (Mohler) Ashby. His mother survives in Logansport.

Bruce was married to Darcy Eldridge Ashby, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Cale (Bianca) Ashby, Ethan (Courtney) Ashby; daughter, Allison Ashby; grandchildren, Dalton, Savannah, Gigi, Angel, Bella, Layla, Evelyn; great-grandchildren, Jace and Nora; two brothers, Mitchell Ashby (Cheri Barnes), Merrill Ashby; three sisters, Karmen Spletzer (Dan Olabuenaga), Molly (Greg) Ledger, Melanie (Max) Niblick; many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

Bruce's father, Rex Ashby; and brother, Ben Ashby, preceded in death.

A 1973 graduate of Logansport High School, Bruce served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was employed by the United States Postal Service, starting as a letter carrier in Logansport and retiring as manager of maintenance in Lafayette.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, with Pastor Mike Montgomery officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors.
