Alan Lee Hiatt, 75, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 21, 2022.

He was born to the late Glen W. and Frances M. (Wilson) Hiatt on Jan. 2, 1947, at Duke's Hospital, in Peru, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Mariellen, Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Lynn, Fresno, California; sons, Jason, Timothy, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Christopher, Grovetown, Georgia. Also surviving are siblings, Lana Osenbaugh, Walton, Glen E, Logansport and David (Sue), Muncie; and many cousins; nieces; and nephews. A sister, Joyce, preceded in death.

Alan graduated from Lewis Cass High School on May 25, 1965. He served in the Army in Okinawa, Japan. After his honorable discharge, he joined Christians in Action in Long Beach, California, where he met his future wife, Mariellen McCullough, and they were married June 9, 1972. They spent 24 years as missionaries in Fukuoka, Japan. In 1997, they returned to Woodlake, California, and worked in the Christians in Action office.

Alan and Mariellen retired as missionaries in 2013 and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he became interim pastor at Tanque Verde Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 1:30 p.m. MST, at Dodge Chapel in Tucson, Arizona.
