Zachary W. Ewing, 16, Galveston, earned his wings and joined the angels in Heaven at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was born April 30, 2000, to Matthew P. and Jennifer R. (Coy) Ewing.
Zach was a student as Lewis Cass High School in Walton. He loved archery, hunting, fishing, arrow head collecting and mushroom hunting. He loved the outdoors and always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving family include his parents, Matthew and Jennifer Ewing, Galveston; maternal grandparents, Phillip and Jackie Coy, Kokomo; paternal grandparents, Michael and Kathy Ewing, Kokomo; uncle, Jeremy Coy, Kokomo; aunts, Amanda Glenn, Melanie Axum and Kara Simon; a very close cousin, Cadence Coy; and several other cousins and special friends, Cole Greer, Matt O'Conner and Donnie Spence.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 at the Galveston United Methodist Church, 515 S. Maple St., Galveston, with Rev. Joe Coffin officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church. Family requests that everyone wear casual attire to the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zach's family to help with funeral expenses. Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements.
