William "Bill"'s Story
William "Bill" E. Demerly, 85, Logansport, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born Oct. 4, 1932, in Logansport, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Burns) Demerly. On May 21, 1953, in Junction City, Kansas he married Doris M. Magart, who survives.
Bill retired as a car salesman and was a 1951 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an avid sports fan. Bill enjoyed attending all Logansport Berry athletic events and watching the Cubs, Bears, Colts, Boilers and the Irish.
Surviving along with his wife, Doris, is a daughter, Deb (Sam) Tocco, Logansport; grandchildren, Tony Tocco, Troy Tocco, both of Tampa, Florida, Trent (Heather) Tocco, Logansport, Trisha (Grant) Simpson, Columbia, South Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Addisyn and Berkley Tocco, and Jackson and Bronson Simpson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Sue Demerly; a sister, Norma Jean Demerly; three half-brothers; and a half-sister.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
In honor of Bill, the family has requested that dress attire be casual and in support of your favorite sports team.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to the Logansport Berry Boosters, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
