Vera Mae Larimore, 87, Galveston, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Golden Living Sycamore Village in Kokomo.
Born May 27, 1930, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Ira Lewis and Ethel Maude (Campbell) McFatridge. On May 9, 1954, in Deer Creek, she married Laurel M. Larimore Jr., who survives.
Vera was a 1948 graduate of Deer Creek High School. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, loved listening to country western music, enjoyed word searches and reading books. Vera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving along with her husband Laurel are two daughters, Joy (Mike) Holt, Kokomo, and Marsha Larimore, Logansport; her daughter she never had, Debra Wescott, Logansport; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Holt II, Kokomo, Stephanie (Chris Butler) Holt, Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Austin and Rylee Holt, and Garrett and Delilah Butler.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jim, Charles, Tom, Bill, Bob and Arthur McFatridge; and a sister, Dorothy McFatridge.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, in the Gundrum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Deer Creek.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 30, also in the funeral home.
