I vividly remember sweet Stephanie from speech class our sophomore year of high school. We sat beside each other and she always had a smile to give and a good sense of humor. And my most memorable moment with her is the lip sync she and I coreographed to the song “Respect” by Aretha Franklin for our class. We dressed in black formal dresses, had a ton of fun and got an A! She was dear soul who will be missed.

This world is truly a darker place with the sudden and tragic loss of Steph. No matter what was going on in her life, she was always bright and cheerful and caring to all around her. My heart aches and words cannot express the feeling of loss. Time and distance have separated us over the decades, but she was always a call or message away. I'll never forget when she started at Wawasee. Steph was a world unto her self. She was always a light that shine brighter than the rest of us; she embodied joy. So many times she would make me laugh; laugh so hard my cheeks hurt and tears would stream down my face. She never knew how important that was and how much that positively effected my life during ...those times. My heart goes out to her parents, her beautiful boys, and the remaining friends and family she left behind. See her light in every sunrise. Remember her kind and loving spirit. Take that with you as you venture into this world. I love you, Steph. Be at peace.Read more
