Sharon Lee Herd, 76, Venice, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017. She is formerly of Allen Park, Michigan and Logansport.
Mrs. Herd moved to Venice in 2003 and was married to Bryan Herd. Along with her husband, survivors also include her sister, Linda Fenn, North Port, Florida; brother, Ray (Ann Marie) Fenn, Gainesville, Florida; nephews, Raymond (River), Greg (Providence) and Jake (Lindsay); great-nieces Emily and Olivia; and many cousins in Texas and California.
It has been said by many that Sharon was the happiest person in the world. She also made everyone around her happy. Sharon loved doing things with her hands, and she enjoyed reading. Once she started reading a book, dinner would wait. She was also a very good cook and loved to watch cooking shows. Sharon was a cosmetology teacher and treated all her students as if they were her own children. They could come to her with all their problems before they could go to their own parents. She never judged anyone and always saw the good in each person she met. Sharon was the greatest wife in the world, and she will be greatly missed.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday June 5, 2017, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, Florida, 34224.
Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Ewing Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
