Sandra S. Mead, 66, of Logansport, passed away Aug. 12, 2017, in Miller's Merry Manor following a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 8, 1950, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Eugene Perfetto and the late Suetta Perfetto. Her father survives in Logansport.
Sandra received her college degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Most recently, she was employed at Camelot Care Center.
She attended several churches in the community where she worshipped and loved the Lord.
Sandra was very talented. She was a cake decorator who made several elaborate cakes over the years. Sandra was also an accomplished pianist and organist. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, especially knitting.
Surviving with her father are four children: Sherry (Matt) Harris and Matt Mead, all of Logansport, Becky (Stan) Hallman, of Autaugaville, Alabama, and Brandon ( Amanda) Mead, of Prattville, Alabama; one brother Brad Perfetto, of Logansport; and ten grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Sandra's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Jeff Moss officiating.
The North Central Indiana Nursing Honor Guard will begin the service with their memorial tribute.
Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Calvary II at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
