Ruth Naomi (Hopper) (Bowyer) Lohrman, 90, New Waverly, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport.
She was born July 30, 1927, in Logansport to the late George and Florance (Knight) Hopper. On Sept. 15, 1946, she married Gerald Keith Bowyer Jr., who preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1997. On Dec. 15, 2001, she married Wayne Lohrman, who preceded her in death Jan. 15, 2013.
Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Logansport High School. She worked in retail at Kresge's Dime Store. She was a stay-at-home mother to her children. She was a member of the New Waverly United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping for many years.
She is survived by a son, Nelson K. Bowyer, Peru; daughter, Susan J. (Conrad) Brewer, Logansport; four grandsons, Marc (Kristina), Jason (Sara), Brandon (Lorye), and Joe (Amy); great-grandsons, Johnathon, Alex, Marc Jr. and Ryan; great-granddaughters, Faythe, Hope and Brianna; stepson, Edwin (Hilary) Lohrman; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Hopper; a sister, Wanda Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, a son, a daughter-in-law and a great-granddaughter; her in-laws, Gerald Keith Sr. and Gladys V. (Shaw) Bowyer; and a stepdaughter.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Bowyer officiating. Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, also in the funeral home.
