Reverend Daniel's Story
Reverend Daniel J. Pongratz, 70, of Carmel, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1947 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to the late Douglas and Gertrude Pongratz. Dan was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the Southwestern Assembly of God University. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Dan retired from the Indiana District Assemblies of God after serving in ministry for 39 years. He served as a pastor in Logansport and Lafayette and a missionary in South Africa. The last 13 years of his ministry were spent serving other pastors and missionaries from the Indiana District office.
Dan loved God first, his family next and then the ministry calling to which he was faithful.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Northview Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Dan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Laura; sons, Jason T. (Shannon) and Scott A. (Erin) Pongratz; grandchildren, Tyler, Sophia, Conner, Ada, Townsend and Hunter; brother, Steve (Connie) Pongratz; sisters, Mary Juhnke and Barb (Carl) Weber; and several nieces and nephews.
