Phyllis J. Scott


Phyllis J. Scott, 89. Rochester, formerly of Logansport, passed away Friday morning, June 7, 2019, at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester.
Born Oct. 21, 1929, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer O. and Marjorie (Packard) Davis.
On Nov. 7, 1952, she was married to William N. Scott, who preceded her in death in 1998.
Phyllis was a self-proclaimed domestic engineer. Phyllis loved unconditionally and in turn, she was loved beyond measure.
In her later years, she enjoyed the beauty of Fort Myers, Florida. Phyllis was always up for a game of cards, a good margarita and a visit to a cute boutique.
Surviving are three children: Larry Burns, Punta Gorda, Florida; Deborah (Craig) Campbell, of Fargo, North Dakota; and Greg Scott, of Onward; 11 grandchildren: Scott Burns, Patrick (Ladeema) Burns, Shannon Hensley, Amber (Mack) Scott, Josh (Tiffany) Douglass, Kristin (Travis) Horn, Leiah (David) Galownia, Emily (Nick) Gard, Adam (Jenessa) Campbell, Ann Campbell and Heather Burns; 27 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Roseanna Scott, Logansport; brother-in-law, Junior Howell, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by sons Michael Scott and Don Burns; daughter Kathy Scott; daughter-in-law Carol Burns, brother Ronald "Buzz" Davis; sister Kay Howell; grandson Michael Lee Burns; and great-grandson Trey Horn.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Phyllis Scott will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dawn Fisher officiating.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment, at a later date, will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Logansport.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity in memory of Phyllis Scott.
