Pamela L. Dickinson, 70, Akron, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
She was born Sept. 3, 1946, to Albert E. "Ted" Hawk Jr. and LaVerta Sundheimer in Miami, Florida.
She was a graduate of Manchester High School, a member of the Moose Lodge in Peru and a member of the Order of the Amaranth in Peru. She had done secretarial work most of her life, working for Schneider International Trucking and most recently Akron Concrete Products until her retirement. She had also owned and operated Ye Ole Bath Shoppe Pet Grooming in Peru for several years.
Pam will be remembered as a spirited, tender-hearted woman who loved her family. She enjoyed reading and caring for her plants, but she had a special fondness and passion for animals. She rescued, adopted and cared for several dogs and cats over the course of her life.
Left to cherish Pam's memory are two sons, Marvin (Stephene) Redman of Bunker Hill and Joe (Jena) Redman of Logansport; seven grandchildren, Gipsy, Kalika, Kristin, Stephen, Seanna, Sylas and Skye; two great-grandchildren, Karoline and Lyla; two sisters, Lina Harding of Las Vegas, Nevada, and LaVerta "Shelly" (Pat) Walgamuth of Akron; two brothers, Fred (Michele) Caudill of Peru and Alan (Lesly) Sundheimer of Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Lacy and cat Weesaw. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Hawk.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Akron Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the graveside one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Ed Rhodes will officiate.
