Otis J Winn Jr., 93, Camden, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, in Chase Center.
Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Otis J. Sr. and Georgia Chambers Winn.
On Sept. 3, 1992, in Delphi, he was married to Hildegarde Mae Pollinger Winn. She preceded him in death Nov. 7, 2009.
Otis was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. He was a member and staunch supporter of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 3790.
Otis had worked in construction most of us his life. He loved trucks, reading, and he was a firearms enthusiast. Otis frequently attended Deer Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Conna (Larry) Kitchel, of Logansport; several great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews; and stepchildren, Alexander (Eileen) Phillips, of Bar Harbor, Maine, Laraine (Douglas) MacLauchlan, of Flora, Edward (Evelyn) Phillips, Thomaston, Connecticut, and Joseph (Rebecca) Phillips, Camden; seven step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary "Tot," Ruth, Georgia Blanche, Margaret, Phyllis and Harriet.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Otis Winn will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Beth Ann Cook officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service in the funeral chapel.
