Norman G. "Bud" Anders, 88, Leesburg, Florida, passed away at 3:18 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in the Leesburg Medical Center.
Born Oct. 6, 1929, in Winamac, he was the son of the late Delbert and Verna (Yeargean) Anders.
On Aug. 20, 1946, in Logansport, he was married to Lillian (James) Anders who preceded him in death April 23, 2011.
Bud served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion, both in Leesburg.
He was retired as a railroad dispatcher in 1989 after working for the Penn Central Railroad.
A 33rd Degree Mason, Bud was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shrine Club, all in Florida. He was active in the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his son, Terry (Syd) Anders, Plymouth; daughters, Sandra (Jim) Anderson and Janice Weaver, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Norma Winegardner, New Waverly; grandchildren, April (Chad) Resor, Angie Tacker, Kevin Kelley and Stephanie (Brian) Frushour; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Alice Anders.
A funeral service celebrating Bud's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Burial, with full military honors, will be in Victor Chapel Cemetery, North of Royal Center.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday in the funeral chapel.
