Nicholas P. "Nick" Amelio, formerly of Logansport, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, in Miami, Florida. Born Nov. 20, 1950, in Logansport, Nick was the son of Francis P. and Viola M. "Rusty" Foust Amelio. On June 14, 1979, he married the love of his life, Julia Patricia "Paty" Londoño, who survives.
Nick graduated from Logansport High School in 1969. He then joined the Armed Forces for a brief period, and was honorably discharged with an illness in 1970.

He especially loved the Caribbean, calling Grand Cayman his home for many years. Living in Florida and Cayman inspired his love of tropical fish and his salt water aquariums. He also loved the company of his canine companions.
Nick is survived by his wife, Paty; daughters, Nikki (Scott) Ellington, Logansport, and Kristine (Jason) Morris, Greenwood; son, Michael (Gina) Amelio, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and grandchildren, Zachary and Kelsie Ellington, Sadie and Carson Morris and Gaby and Brody Amelio.
