Marjorie A. Hosier, 96, West Lafayette, formerly of Logansport, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Heritage Healthcare, West Lafayette.
She was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Logansport to the late Donald and Jennie Murden Callender. Marjorie graduated from Logansport High School with the class of 1939. In 1981, she was married to Gerald Hosier, and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Most of all Marjorie was a homemaker but she also worked as a teacher's aide for the Logansport and Pulaski County school systems. Marjorie was a member of the Winamac Christian Church. She was on the board of Four County Counseling Center for 26 years where she also served as president from 1989-1996. She was formerly a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church in Logansport where she was a youth leader, in the C.W.F., and in charge of Bible School. She enjoyed reading, bridge and golf.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Drompp Foerg of West Lafayette and Dr. Michael R. Drompp of Memphis, Tennessee; and her four grandchildren, Gregory and Robert Foerg and Daniel and Kevin Hatcher. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Anna, Emily and Elijah Foerg, and Elijah, Alayna and Nathan Hatcher; her son-in-law, Jon Hatcher; her sister-in-law, Rosanna Markley of Logansport; and several special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennie Drompp Hatcher; and her siblings, Bernard Callender, Juanita Callender Jackson and James Callender.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pulaski Public Library or Four County Counseling in memory of Marjorie. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
