Margaret Ann Guckien, 95, Mulberry, formerly of Carroll County, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Margaret was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Lucerne to the late James and Francis (Larkin) Montgomery. She graduated from Lucerne High School and Logansport Business School.
She married F. Michael Guckien on April 19, 1944 in Lucerne, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1984.
She was the former owner-operator of Burrows Lunch. She also worked for 16 years as a secretary for Logansport State Hospital. She retired as a house mother in various sororities at Purdue University.
Guckien was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, St. Elizabeth Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Margaret enjoyed playing Euchre, cake decorating, crocheting, traveling and spending time with family.
She is survived by her children, Sylvester (Pat) Guckien, Frankfort, Kay (John) Trent, Kokomo, Mary Guckien, West Lafayette, Marie (Michael) Clawson, Delphi; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, J.W. Montgomery; and a sister, Mary Hardy.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, with Father Clayton Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, with the Rosary at 6:45 p.m.
