.Lois Annabelle Shepard, 89, of Royal Center, passed away at 5:23 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Kokomo.
Born November 29, 1927, in Royal Center, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Odding and Nellie Rose (Brandt) Leach.
On December 22, 1983, she was married to Robert Frederick "Bob" Shepard, who preceded her in death July 28, 2015.
Lois was a 1945 graduate of Royal Center High School. She was retired from RBM after 39 years of employment
Her home church for many years was the Old Shiloh Church. Lois also attended the Royal Center Baptist Christian Church. Lois was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Royal Center. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery. Lois loved gardening, especially growing flowers and being outdoors with all the critters and the beautiful eagle in her neighborhood. She and Bob had enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis D'Wayne and Barbara Ann Hayden of Lucerne; two step-sons, Donald Shepard, and Joseph (Wilma) Shepard, all of Logansport; two step-daughters, Carol (Jay) Pursch, of Logansport and Beverly (Robert) Sargent, of Indianapolis; three granddaughters, Stacie Grabbe of Advance, Nikke Cripe of Goshen and Andrea Orlando of McKinney, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Cody Grabbe, Sierra Grabbe, Colten Cripe, Austin Cripe, Kaylie Orlando and Kamryn Orlando; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Mitch.
She was preceded in death by one sister Marjorie (Harold) Ross and two brothers, Loyd E. Leach and Marion Leach.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Lois Shepard will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 29 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating. The Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service just prior to the funeral.
Interment will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from noon until the time of the service on Monday in the funeral chapel.
