Linda's Story

Linda Lou (Watterson) Joseph, 71, Onekama, Michigan, died unexpectedly Monday April 10, 2017.
She was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of Harris Isom Watterson and Della Jane (Piercy) Watterson.
Linda attended Manchester College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in home economics and nutrition. She worked as a substitute teacher at Bear Lake and Onekama Schools and then worked for Dr. Daniel Joseph at his office for over 30 years. Most recently, Linda worked with Dr. Ryan Sullivan in Manistee and was the Assistant Township Clerk for Onekama Township.
Linda was an active member of the Onekama Church of the Brethren, singing in the choir and participating in many activities. Linda enjoyed traveling with friends and family, working in her flower gardens and sewing. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Linda married Steven John Joseph on June 18, 1967, in Logansport.
She is survived by her children, Aaron C. (Traci) Joseph, Rockford, Michigan, and Megan J. (Todd) Echterling, Marietta, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Ashley Secord, Michelle (Zachary) Konieczka, Leigh Anne Secord, John Joseph, Jordan Echterling, and Eli Echterling; one great-grandchild, Camille Konieczka; brothers, Larry Watterson, Logansport, Roger (Linda) Watterson, Logansport, and David (Pam) Watterson, Logansport; sister, Barbara Barden, Plant City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Isom and Della Watterson, and her husband, Steve Joseph.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Onekama Church of the Brethren in Onekama, with the Rev. Frances Townsend officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Brethren Heights in Rodney, Michigan, or to the Onekama Church of the Brethren Dick Ward Scholarship Fund.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
